The new Senior Resource Fair will ensure seniors can talk with organizations about home care assistance, legal services, food and more!
U.S. Representative Marie Newman (D-IL-03) announced that her office will host a Senior Resource Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Oak Lawn Senior Center, located at 5220 W. 105th St. The free Senior Resource Fair is open to all residents of Chicago’s Southwest Side and suburbs, and is designed to connect seniors and their families with a variety of resources from local organizations, non-profits and government entities.
Building on Congresswoman Newman’s Job Resource Fair last summer and the ongoing mobile services being held this fall and winter, the new Senior Resource Fair will ensure IL-03’s seniors can talk directly with local organizations about home care assistance, legal services, food and shelter resources and more. Additionally, her office as well as other local government entities will be present to assist seniors with issues related to Medicare, Social Security, Veteran Benefits and more.
Participating organizations include but are not limited to:
Al-Anon Family Group
Alzheimer's Association
Center for Disability & Elder Law
Illinois Department on Aging
LPL Financial
McEnery Financial
Oak Lawn Fire Department
Office of State Representative Fran Hurley
Office of State Senator Bill Cunningham
Pathlights
Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home
and more!
No RSVPs are necessary, but you can contact Congresswoman Newman’s Office for more information, or to inquire about being a resource provider at (773) 948-6223.
