Volunteer day in partnership with the Upper Saco Valley Land Trust
If you've ever been interested in what a day of trail work can look like, we have a stewardship opportunity for you on the Conway Recreation Path!
Volunteers will meet USVLT and WMTC staff at one of the trailheads for the Conway Recreation Path at 8 AM on Friday, November 5th. The exact trailhead is TBD and will be sent out in an email prior to the event. The day will end at the latest around 3 PM at the trailhead. There is a snow/rain date of November 12th.
At most the group will be hiking a little over 2 miles. Read more about the Pine Hill Community Forest here: https://www.usvlt.org/conserved-lands/pine_hill_community_forest/37
Staff from both organizations will guide you through brushing and raking the trail predominantly, with the potential for some other types of trail maintenance as well. We'd love to have you join us!
Safety equipment (eye protection, hard hats, and gloves) will be provided for you, but if you have your own, we recommend that you bring it. All tools will be provided.
Please bring anything you need to hike safely (in cold weather) including:
your own snacks
sunscreen
any necessary medications for allergic reactions to vegetation, insects, etc.
cold weather gear/warm layers
hiking boots (required)
pants (required)
Additionally, we ask that if you are unvaccinated that you wear a mask when you are closer than 6 feet away from anyone, including while outside. You can request to have our updated Covid-19 Policy emailed to you.
Please email Olivia Carle, the WMTC Level I & Volunteer Coordinator, at [email protected].
