Seeking Ice Rink Service Technicians for 2021-2022 Seasonal positions (temporary): for Christmas On The Plaza, located at the MGM Casino in Springfield MA. November 16, 2021 to January 8, 2022. Skaters and non-skaters alike are encouraged to apply for this fun and exciting promotional event designed to engage the community and guests during the holiday season! SUMMARY: Must have experience in ice maintenance, ice resurfacing, skate sharpening, and mechanical skills. Knowledge of the ice skating industry, rink operations, refrigeration, productions and/or competitions is preferred. General carpentry skills and construction skills is a bonus. Responsibilities and Duties: *Manage day-to-day maintenance operations including eliminating safety hazards, and reducing controllable expenses. *Oversee responsibilities of staff. * Resurfacing, and following rink reporting policies. *Troubleshoot rink equipment including; POS systems, lighting, audio, security, radios etc, and report deficiencies to the appropriate department contacts. Qualifications: *Adequate education and training in a similar role. *1-2+ yrs supervisory or operational mgm’t experience. * High School Diploma or GED-equivalent required. College degree in a related field an asset. *Computer competency: Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and Dropbox, etc. *Ability to work with various levels of management as well as working with other departments. *Highly organized and detail oriented, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to multitask. *Excellent written and verbal communication.
