Join The Wildlands Conservancy's Rangers for a guided hike along the Santa Margarita River Trail. Come explore and learn about local ecology
The Santa Margarita River Trail Preserve is the last free flowing river in Southern California. Join the local Rangers from The Wildlands Conservancy as they tour the the group through the winding river corridor. Rangers will shed light on some of the natural history that makes the river valley one of California's Biodiversity Hotspots.
The hike will begin promptly at 10:00am, though we ask hike participants to arrive at 9:30am in order to fill out liability release forms and assemble with other hike participants.
The hike will be 3 miles in total, traversing along banks of the river. There are sections of trail that are narrow, uneven, and rocky. Hike participants are encouraged to bring sturdy hiking shoes or hiking boots, drinking water, and a light snack as well as weather-appropriate attire.
The hike be out-and-back in nature and the group will return to the trailhead parking area at 1pm.
