Jobs

35th Street near Cottage Grove, Chicago IL

Description

42 year old disabled male individual that lives with a Traumatic Brain Injury has been physically active for the majority of his life. Fifteen years ago, he experienced two strokes that has created all sorts of disabling conditions to his body. Over the past year, the individual started to run again in hopes of reclaiming his fitness. He ran in the Chicago Marathon just this October 2021 as a goal and was able to complete the marathon in its entirety. The individual is now training for future half marathons and additional marathons. In support of that, we are looking for a running partner that can train 3 days a week here in the Bronzeville community in the mornings starting around 8 or 9a.m. Support will be needed in the way of pacing with the disabled runner, ensuring that he is safe, and assisting to alleviate memory loss. In addition to the three morning trainings during the week, there is a Saturday morning training that takes place each Saturday and sometimes switches to Sundays that starts at 6:30/7:30a.m. that will require your attendance. In total, we are looking at between 9-12 hours of commitment per week. This is a long-term assignment. Pay will be $12.00/hour CASH. Looking for someone very reliable, experienced with running, can act as a motivator and good support and voice of encouragement. This is an immediate need to start someone within the next week. Please be able to travel to our area. We are located on 35th Street & Cottage Grove. Serious interest only. Thank you.
