Solve the mystery of the "haunted" education center with Bailey the Bat! Join us for this special edition Spooky Story Walk! Celebrate spooky season with your favorite Refuge Rangers and Nocturnal Animals! Fun for the whole family and costumes are greatly encouraged! This Spooky Story Walk is a mystery! You must join us to find out who is haunting the Environmental Education Center late in the night. Bailey the Bat will guide us along the trail, interviewing all of her fellow nocturnal friends. We will have a table set up to welcome you, an activity book to complete along with the Story Walk and an activity to bring home! The Story Walk will be available from 4pm-6pm, so you can arrive at any time in this window. Spots are limited, so sign up today! Social distancing is encouraged as well. This program is intended to be done in your own family group. This program is provided to you by San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society in partnership with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Cargill, Inc., and Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Program. The StoryWalk®️ Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk®️ is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. Containing almost 30,000 acres of estuarine habitat, uplands, open water, mudflats, salt ponds, and salt marshes, including much of southern San Francisco Bay, Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge provides habitat for many wildlife. Its purpose is to protect wildlife habitat for endangered species and migratory birds, and to offer opportunities for nature study. The refuge has two main facilities - an Environmental Education Center (EEC) in Alviso and a Visitor Contact Station in Fremont. The EEC in Alviso is normally open Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m and the Visitor Contact Station is normally open Wednesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Both the EEC and Visitor Center are currently closed to the public and closed on all federal holidays. Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge is part of the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex and is administered by the US Fish & Wildlife Service.
