A panoply of video clips about Black life and culture in Chicago. Sara Chapman of the Media Burn Independent Video Archive presents a small sampling of their wide array of videos highlighting Black life in Chicago. These videos will feature a variety of ordinary and extraordinary Chicagoans, such as Harold Washington,Carol Moseley Braun, Timuel Black, Jesse Jackson,Hazel Johnson, Frankie Knuckles, Herb Kent, Richard Hunt, Sweetwater Clifton, Dovie Thurman, the House-o-Matics, and Aaron Freeman. Footage of the Bud Billiken parade, blues concerts, fishing in Jackson Park lagoon, a tour of Chatham, neighborhood festivals in South Shore and Englewood, and more round out the program. (60 min.) Followed by a discussion between Chapman and Sherry Williams, president of the Bronzeville Historical Society.
