Ikebana Morimono: Use of Fruits & Vegetables in Japanese Flower Arrangement Ikebana Morimono: Use of Fruits & Vegetables in Japanese Flower Arrangement Sunday, November 14, 10:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. Instructor: Irene Gomulka Pre-registration required Irene will teach a traditional Japanese Morimono Ikebana class suitable for a Thanksgiving or holiday table setting. Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging, is a national Japanese treasure, which is over 500 years old. Morimono uses fruits and vegetables in a Japanese flower arrangement. All materials will be supplied. A bamboo mat, flowers, plant materials, fruits, vegetables, etc. will be provided with a separate $15.00 materials fee paid directly to the instructor in class. Please bring branch cutters and/or garden clippers. Irene Gomulka has given numerous, demonstrations and taught Ikebana classes at Leu Gardens, Mennello Museum, multiple Garden Clubs and teaches ongoing private workshops. For many years she has been invited as an Ikebana Artist to demonstrate Ikebana at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival. Irene is a licensed instructor in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. She holds the rank of Jonin Sanyo, which is her fourth teaching certificate from the Sogetsu School in Tokyo, Japan. She is the current president of the Ikebana International Chapter in Orlando and the Chairperson of the Sogetsu Orlando Study Group. Irene is a member of the Sogetsu Teachers Association (STA) and Creative Floral Arrangers of the Americas (CFAA). She is also an International Judge for the Ikebana Gallery, which recognizes Ikebana student arrangements. Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom.
