Chapman Construction, a custom General Contracting Company, is looking to hire both carpenters and apprentices for projects in Sonoma and Napa Counties. These positions are NOT management positions though there are opportunities for advancement. Projects are primarily residential and include both new construction and remodels. Carpenter Position: Carpenters are expected to have at least 5 years carpentry experience and an understanding of all aspects of residential carpentry including (but not limited to) form work, framing, finish carpentry, window and door installation, siding and sheer. Carpenter’s daily work includes: Concrete forming (foundations, retaining walls and slabs) Pouring of foundations, retaining walls and slabs Framing (under floor to roof) Instillation of doors and windows Siding and trim Finish carpentry Miscellaneous duties as directed Hourly Wages - To be discussed during interview. Apprentice: Apprentices are not expected to have any construction experience though it is a plus. Apprentices will do many duties often associated with a laborer position but will also be trained as a carpenter and will work with the carpentry crew. Apprentices will be expected to listen and follow direction. Apprentice’s daily work includes: Excavation (by hand) Clean up/Job site organization Assisting carpenters as directed Miscellaneous duties as directed Learning Hourly Wages - To be discussed during interview. Applicants must have: Personal transportation to job sites across Sonoma and Napa Counties (not dropped off by spouse, parent, friend, etc.). A valid driver’s license. (A clean driving record is a plus for apprentice applicants.). The ability to listen to and understand direction from superiors and to communicate clearly with superiors and fellow crew members.
