SALEM, MA —U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton is bringing back his Veterans Town Hall along with "Perfect Storm" author Sebastian Junger. The annual discussion where veterans can meet, share service stories and the public can better understand the cost of war will be held virtually on Veterans Day night at 7 p.m. "As veterans across America struggle with the fallout of Afghanistan — many of us still working every day to save our allies we left behind —there couldn't be a more important time to come together as a community, veterans together with those we served, to share and understand our experience with war," said Moulton, who represents the MA 6th Congressional District. "Go see for yourself how powerful it is to hear the incredible stories of your neighbors and friends in places like Vietnam, Korea, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. "It helps us all understand who we are as a people, and the great work we still must do to bring peace to the world." The first town hall took place in 2015 after Junger highlighted the need for the forum in a Vanity Fair article. Junger suggested: "making every town and city hall in the country available to veterans who want to speak publicly about the war." The first Veterans Town Hall was held in Marblehead's Abbot Hall. The past two years, the event has been virtual because of the coronavirus health crisis. It will be available online on Moulton's Facebook page. The event will include veteran speakers from various eras of U.S. war and conflict and branches of service. Moulton's office said the Veterans Town Hall is a non-partisan event.
