My name is Consuela Munoz, a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. Business leaders hire me to master their strengths-based leadership because most are facing the "Great Resignation" and won't retain "A" players, maintain superior results and struggle to manage time, teams, and talents. So, I help build and engage their natural leadership style for ultimate success. Right now, one of your best employees is thinking about leaving for another job. If you are noticing problems, it may be more than one employee. A leader that develops a team of leaders will build the strongest team possible and easily reach their group and organization goals. Bottom line as a leader you don't want to turn around and find no one is following you. Below are the top tips on how you can become a leader of leaders. Power of Leadership High potential and high-performance team members want to work with a strong and competent leader. The best leaders lead from strength. They focus their efforts where they know they can have the most impact. Simply knowing your strengths provides the tools to think about your leadership differently. It's vital to develop a leadership strategy that fits you, which in turn provides your team with an "authentic" picture of who you are and how they fit into the mix. Culture of Care The old style of leadership will no longer work. The idea that your position makes you a leader, or that if you aren't hearing complaints, that everyone is happy won't cut it. In the same way that feeling that leaders need to know everything and lead everyone in the same way won't lead to high performance. The solution to the issue of losing team members is Care. Caring begins with leadership. You must care enough to be your absolute best. You need to care enough to develop your team members to be the leaders they are meant to be and able to do their best. Inspire and Motivate As a leader, you can inspire your team by clearly sharing your expectations and purpose. It's easier to reach your goals when communicated in a basic manner. Each person on your team will need to develop and learn in their own way. When you have created that caring culture you can have conversations with each person to understand what is most needed. That in turn will make reaching out for input and collaboration on team and organization goals easier. Being the leader of leaders will bring greater success for you, your team, and your organization. When you lead from your natural and authentic leadership style you will find your team not only following but working hard for your combined success. Caring starts with your leadership and you being the best you can. As you develop your team members to be leaders themselves you will inspire them to greater engagement, motivation, and performance.
