Here are the top stories today in Spokane: Spokane is one step closer to reducing its impact on the environment. On Monday, Spokane City Council voted 6-1 to pass an 84-page Sustainability Action Plan. Manager of Sustainability Initiatives Kate Odegard said the main purpose of the plan is to make sure the Spokane community is working toward the same goals when it comes to the city's environmental impact. (KXLY Spokane) A federal judge in Spokane has denied a motion to halt Washington's vaccine mandate for state workers and emergency responders. The judge points out that in order for him to place this pause on the governor's mandate, a plaintiff must show that irreparable harm is likely if he doesn't. He also writes that the plaintiffs filed their complaint on Oct. 6, almost two months after the vaccination requirement was announced. That, he says, shows a lack of urgency and lack of true concern about irreparable harm. (KXLY Spokane) It's taken several months, but the nightmare following a routine errand for a local man is finally nearing an end. The man who was wrongfully accused of identity theft says he's not only received an apology, but adds he was also told Spokane County would be covering the legal fees associated with clearing his name.
