MIAMI BEACH, FL — A man with a machete chased after a Minnesota family visiting Miami Beach Saturday night.
According to WSVN, Gabriel Alvarez said that a man — later identified as 38-year-old Milot Richards — confronted his family, who were speaking Spanish to each other, and said, "You [expletive] people in Spanish. What are you doing here?"
Richards began hitting the pavement with a machete he was holding, scaring the family before eventually chasing them with the weapon.
Alvarez said his wife thought they were going to die and encourage their family to run.
Police were able to track down Richards. They arrested him and charged him with six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of crystal meth.
