Here are the top stories in Salt Lake City today: Amazon is hiring for 250 part-time and full-time positions at a new Salt Lake City facility, where same-day orders and deliveries will be prepared. Prime members living in the Salt Lake City area "will be able to receive orders approximately five hours from when they make their purchases," the release states. A 150,000-square-foot "mini" fulfillment center is expected to launch in early November, and area customers will start getting deliveries in December, according to a news release. (Salt Lake Tribune) Seven felony charges were filed Monday against Patrick Kevin Driscoll, 50, a Salt Lake City information technology employee accused of providing restricted police information to a man allegedly involved in sex trafficking to help him avoid being caught. Prosecutors noted that additional criminal charges may be filed against him, but Driscoll's attorney says his client is being wrongly portrayed. However, several woman told investigators that Driscoll was known as "the Guardian" because he used "his position as an employee at Salt Lake City to access law enforcement databases and other nonpublic sources and provide this sensitive information to individuals involved in illicit activities," the charges state.
