Youth ages 8-18 will design, create, shape, and decorate their own pinewood derby car to race against other participants at this free event!
All participants must complete the 4-H enrollment paper form (if they are not currently enrolled 4-H members) and waiver at check in on the day of the event. Registration must be completed through Eventbrite and is limited to the first 16 youth in each age division.
Age divisions are as follows:
Junior (Ages 8-10 as of September 1)
Intermediate (Ages 11-13 as of September 1)
Senior (Ages 14-18)
Check in will be on Tuesday, March 16 at 4:45PM at the 4-H tent located on North Commerce Ave., near the Sebring Circle. At check in, youth will be assigned a pit area to complete the car. Cars and tools needed to build the derby car are provided. Premade cars, kits, or other materials not provided by us will not be allowed. All cars must be built on site, by the youth, during the allotted build time. All participants will have 45 minutes to build their vehicles, starting at 5:00PM and ending at 5:45PM.
Race heats will begin at 6:30PM, beginning with the junior division. Four heats will run for each age division with the fastest time being named as the division winner. Division winners will move on to complete against the other age division winners (including a real race car driver) for the chance to be the Overall Grand Champion winner.
