CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating an early morning shooting on Franconia Road in the Island Shores Estates condominium complex after a report of an argument between two men on Tuesday. At just after midnight, a Great Falls Drive resident reported hearing a gunshot in the complex as well as people arguing. According to scanner chatter, one person said to the other, "That's the second time you shot at me," as well as someone saying, "I didn't hit you, just like last time." The men were pacing back and forth near the mailboxes of the complex by Electric Avenue, according to a 911 caller. The witness reported a man walking away while another person went inside of a home. Officers arrived and began searching the area and found the man on Electric Avenue. Officers spoke to the man who confirmed there was at least one bullet shot and the person with the gun was back in the home. Police did not comment on whether the man was injured or not. Around 12:30 a.m., Concord fire and rescue teams were staged on Washington Street, preparing to assist. According to capital region dispatch, they were never requested and cleared the staging later. As police approached the home, an officer reported hearing yelling and banging inside and multiple officers positioned themselves outside of the home. New Hampshire State Police also arrived to assist. While officers prepared to make contact with the man accused of shooting the other man, police reported that he was trying to text message the victim. A woman later told police there were two dogs inside of the home but the man was alone. Around 12:45 a.m., a man came out of the home and surrendered to the police. Officers spoke with the initial caller and then, canvassed the other buildings in the complex looking to speak to witnesses. At just before 9 a.m., police still had the area around the home cordoned off with yellow tape. One cruiser was seen two houses away from the home surrounded by tape. Officers were also seen searching the area around the home for bullet casings. Dogs could also be heard barking inside of the home. John Thomas, the deputy chief of police, said the incident was still an active investigation so there was limited information available. He said police did not believe the public was in danger and the two men knew each other. Thomas confirmed that no one was injured or killed during the incident "We believe that there was a shot that was fired," Thomas said. No charges have been rendered yet in the case, he added.
