WARRENVILLE, IL — An employee of Wheaton-Warrenville South High School has been charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a minor, according to DuPage County Jail records. Cesar Navarro, 63, was accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl between June 1 and Sept. 25, Daily Herald reported Tuesday. Navarro, listed as a student supervisor in the Wheaton-Warrenville South directory, was taken into custody Oct. 21, jail records show. Wheaton-Warrenville South Principal Scott McDermott emailed parents, staff and students Tuesday to inform them that an employee had been arrested outside the high school "for assaulting a minor." McDermott's letter, which was forwarded to Patch, did not name the employee, but said they had been placed on leave pending the results of an investigation. McDermott wrote that the incident did not involve a student at the facility. "We will continue to cooperate with our local authorities in any of their investigations to assist in resolving this matter," McDermott wrote. He added, "As this is a personnel matter and an ongoing investigation, we are not able to provide further information at this time. The health, safety and well-being of our students will continue to remain our top priority." Navarro is currently being held in DuPage County Jail, with bond set at $50,000.
