PALO ALTO, CA — A woman in her 70s out for a walk on Saturday afternoon in Palo Alto had two gold necklaces stolen from around her neck by two suspects, according to police.
The suspects approached the woman and her husband, who were out for a walk before 5 p.m. on Saturday. They spoke with them before a female suspect placed a necklace on the woman, and at the same time stole the necklaces from around her neck without her noticing, Palo Alto Police said.
The suspects — a female and a male — drove up to the couple in a silver sedan.
The victim didn't realize her necklaces were stolen until the suspects had driven away. The female suspect was described by the victim as a woman in her 50s with a scarf over her head and a face covering, possibly of Middle Eastern or Romanian heritage.
