Final Sapling Give Away This Week For 'OAKtober' Celebration

MONROVIA, CA — Residents of the Foothill communities will have one last chance to grab a free oak sapling this Thursday as part of Grow Monrovia's 'OAKtober' celebration. The saplings will be available at Maryknoll Sisters Monrovia starting at 5 p.m., city officials said. Six varieties of oak saplings will be available: Scrub, live, cork, Englemann, black and valley. The Foothill communities encompass the area between Pasadena and Glendora, according to Monrovia officials. The giveaway will also include a presentation on the benefits of oak trees and oak tree care, officials said. Contact Grow Monrovia for more information about the giveaway.
