EVANSTON, IL — Someone stole thousands of coronavirus test kits from Northwestern University's Evanston campus, according to university representatives. Around 5 p.m. on Monday, members of the university's private police force were called to the Foster-Walker Complex, a residence hall at 1927 Orrington Ave., for a report of a burglary, university staff announced in a crime notice. They were told that about 4,500 university owned tests for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, had been stolen from a storage room and a common area at Foster-Walker. University employees are reviewing security cameras in the area and "attempting to identify those involved," according to the notice, which was issued in compliance with the federal Clery Act.
