Here are the top stories today in Concord: The work has already begun on Hwy 4 over Grayson Creek, forcing closures of some major connector ramps. These closures will impact Hwy 4 and connector ramps to I-680, spanning Martinez, Pacheco, and Concord. CCTA and Caltrans have scheduled the closures during evening hours in order to minimize impacts to the motoring public. This segment of work in this multi-phased project will lay the groundwork for future improvements to connector ramps, improve traffic safety and enhance traffic flow. (East County Today)You may have to deal with the delays on Hwy 4 and 680 this week, but you'll be off the hook on Vasco Road. The work is now scheduled for next week - Monday, November 1, 2021 through Thursday, November 4, 2021. The work will occur approximately 1 mile south of the Camino Diablo/Vasco Road intersection to the Alameda County Line from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. (Contra Costa Herald) BART will be offering hourly late-night service on Sunday Oct. 31 beyond 9 p.m. Trains will not serve the airport stations (OAK and SFO) but will stop at all other stations. (Claycord.com)Drug overdose is suspected in the deaths of a missing couple from Concord found last month in a car in Pleasanton, the Livermore Independent reported. Police believe the couple is Elijah Quichoco, 27, and Macy Key 28. The couple was found in their Acura on I-580 near Pimlico Dr. Foul play was not suspected. (Concord Patch) 42-year-old Noah Harris was sentenced to nine years in state prison for the attempted murder of a victim at Baldwin Park in Concord in May. Harris used a box cutter to slice the neck of the victim as they were engaged in a verbal dispute, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. In September, a Contra Costa County jury found Harris guilty of five felonies related to this attack, including attempted murder, elder abuse and causing great bodily injury.
