JOHNS CREEK — A dog that was found injured last Wednesday along the road was picked up by Johns Creek police, according to a Facebook post.
The dog had no collar and was spotted at McGinnis Ferry Road and Kemp Road, possibly hit by a car, police said. The dog was taken to a vet by a "good Samaritan."
A Monday Facebook update said the dog didn't have any major injuries and if anyone has questions about adoption or fostering, to contact the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter.
"He's such a sweet boy and deserves a loving home," wrote one user.
To celebrate #AdoptAShelterPetMonth the shelter is offering free adoptions every Friday in October. All adoption fees are waived on Fridays and they still include spay/neuter, microchipping and up-to-date vaccines.
Contact the shelter at (770) 339-3200.
