SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The woman who died on a Scottsdale trail Sunday likely lost her life due to natural causes, according to a preliminary report from the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office. Raleigh Rosen, an Arizonan in her 40s, died while hiking with a friend late Sunday afternoon, according to Scottsdale police. Her preliminary cause of death is cardiovascular disease, according to police. Rosen and her friend were around 1.5 miles out from the trailhead when she she began struggling to breath and lost consciousness, police said. Rosen never regained consciousness, according to police. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene and evacuated her body from the trail, police said. Scottsdale police don't suspect foul play, police said in a news release.
