OCEANSIDE, NY — Community groups in Nassau County are partnering with Hindi's Libraries to collect new, or gently used, books for the organization.
Over the weekend, leaders from the Oceanside Junior Troop #2558 and the Brownie Troop 1277 from West Hempstead/Franklin Square combined to drop off more than 1,500 books.
Hindi's Libraries cofounders Leslie Gang and Dovid Kanarfogel work with troop leaders in Nassau County to collect books and get them donated to children and families in need throughout the world.
"Sometimes other kids can't get to the library and that's not fair to them," Megan Sorrentino, leader of Brownie Troop 1277 said in a statement. "It's super important at this young age to make them see the value of helping others."
