Lead Carpenter O’Brien Construction is seeking a lead Carpenter with great attention to details that takes pride in their work and can perform in all aspects of residential construction. The opening is a skilled position and requires experience in residential or commercial construction. Top candidates will have a professional demeanor, great communication skills, the willingness to work as part of a collaborative team, possess great attention-to-detail, integrity, efficiency and understands frame-to-finish remodels. At O’Brien we have a fast paced, productivity based environment. All applicants must be able to jump into the construction process with minimal instruction. Learning about our processes and our expectations will be done through “on-the-job” training. Essential Functions: Interacting with homeowners and subcontractors Inspecting delivered materials to ensure there are no defects or shortages Maintaining a high level of safety and quality Commitment to keeping clean job sites and shop Preforming framing, trim, siding, flooring, casework, and punch list work Follow specifications and execute work accordingly Work safely and efficiently Enforcing proper tool use and safety procedures Solving production issues as they arise, consulting with supervisors when needed Be timely, organized and meet and beat deadlines Maintain clean and presentable appearance and professional demeanor Ability to work as a team player and always looking out for what is best for the company. Required Qualifications: Most important: a positive can do attitude Solid, verifiable construction (finish, framing, siding, casework, etc.) general carpentry experience Be deadline driven and brisk at your work Prioritize shop OSHA safety standards and prioritize safety in all operations Have a personal tool set (tool belt with hand tools, cordless drill/driver and bits, and access to some specialized tools if needed) Be able to lift up to 50lbs routinely during the day. Be able to routinely lift, twist, and bend while holding tools or material and perform physical exertion including: carrying, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, hauling, and lifting as much as 100 pounds Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Ability to problem solve and Ability to work effectively in a team environment Self-motivated Ability to problem solve Strong communication skills Punctual & dependable Ability to work in a clean/tidy manner Maintain company and OSHA safety requirements Able to pass required pre-employment screenings including criminal background Any offers of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a two week introductory period that evaluates your abilities, work ethic, and match for the job.
