Custodian / Maintenance Worker

Description

The custodian is responsible for performing janitorial duties, minor maintenance & basic repair issues to ensure the school is maintained in a clean, sanitary & safe manner. Responsibilities • Assist in various cleaning duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, moping & dusting. Removal of garbage daily. • Assist in moving of table & chairs for events when needed • Basic plumbing (repairs of leaking faucet, snaking of drains) • Basic electrical knowledge (replacing light bulbs & adjusting loose fixtures) • Basic carpentry & painting knowledge. • Basic seasonal grounds keeping (mowing of lawn etc.) Must be a “Team Player”. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Part Time: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10a.m. – 6p.m. (Extra hours on Weekends when special events are occurring). Pay: Based on experience ~ Hourly with occasional overtime available. School is Located in Cedarhurst, NY. 5 minute walk from Cedarhurst LIRR station Local Bus stop 5 minutes away.
