Job Title: Level 1 Mechanic (Day) Job Location: Redmond, OR Department: Shop FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Director of Maintenance Salary Range: $16 - $19/hour POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary) The Entry-level Shop Technician is responsible for helping the shop with the repair, service and preventative maintenance of semi-trucks and trailers. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Basic repairs, service and preventative maintenance of semi-trucks and trailers • Does not entail engine work QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications) • 1 year basic experience with mechanic repairs and preventative maintenance a plus • Bi-lingual Spanish a plus KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of: • Understanding of facilities and vehicle maintenance; mechanical mindset Skills and Abilities: Must possess skills in the following: • Safety-first mindset and behaviors • Excellent interpersonal skills are required • Ability to commutate effectively, both written and oral • Ability to work well with persons at all levels within the organization • High attention to detail • Basic mathematical skills • Complete tasks timely with a great attention to detail • Must comply with the company’s time and attendance policy • Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level that would allow the communication and comprehension of job-related information, instructions, regulations, signs, maps, MSDS guidelines, required paperwork, memos, etc. • Be able to work with a sense of urgency ensuring deadlines are met or exceeded and drivers are able to meet their time constraints Other Requirements: • Ability to secure and maintain a driver’s license valid in the State of Oregon • Must be able to comply with the company’s time and attendance policy • Will be subject to successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background WORK ENVIRONMENT, TRAVEL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops computers, photocopiers and smartphones. This would require the ability to lift files, open file cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.. Little to no travel is expected for this position. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Tuesday – Friday 8:00 pm – 4:30 pm and Saturday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Occasional nights and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
