Please Apply at www.wellsbrotherscc.com Position Overview: To install water, sewer and stormwater pipes, valves and fittings in conjunction with a utility crew under direct supervision of a foreman. The pipelayer may operate loaders, material handlers and compactors to support operations. Wells Brothers Construction has offices in Turkey and Wilmington, NC. Responsibilities: Install and/or repair water, sewer and stormwater piping as assigned or directed Install and/or repair water, sewer and stormwater manholes, vaults, and basins as assigned or directed Install and/or repair water, sewer and stormwater valves and fittings as assigned or directed Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures Clean grounds around pipelines using pick, shovel, wheelbarrow, and ax as directed or assigned Operate heavy, motorized equipment used in pipe laying operations, including, but not limited to, loaders, compactors and other supplemental machines to support utility operations Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required including fluid and filter changes and parts lubrication Load and unload tools and equipment onto and from truck as directed Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Identify hazards on site Clean assigned equipment as scheduled and/or required Maintain Wells Brothers’ strategic outlook and core values Necessary Skills: Knowledge of proper sequence of activities required to perform the job Ability to follow a firm work schedule as directed by the crew foreman Ability to establish working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and the public Resourcefulness, Self-motivation, and honesty Work independently in the absence of supervision Understand and follow oral and written instructions Must pass equipment operation proficiency exam
