Position Overview: HIRING: KENNEL TECHNICIAN K9 Answers is currently hiring two part time Kennel Technicians. A kennel technician will oversee the animals and kennels at K9 Answers’ pet boarding/training facility. As a kennel technician, your duties include cleaning and maintaining the kennels/sleeping/training areas, giving pets their food and medication, walking dogs in a structured manner, and providing grooming and bathing services. You may work with trainers and other kennel technicians, who oversee the animal’s training and care while they are boarding. Current shifts needed for this role are 5:30pm-9:30pm Sunday-Saturday and 7am-3pm Sunday-Monday. We will determine your schedule upon hire. Salary is based on experience and starting at $14.25/hour for approximately 20-25 hours per week. Responsibilities: Caring for our clients’ dogs ● Walking dogs in a structured manner to and from crates/kennels ● Exercising dogs ● Feeding/watering/medicating ● Bathing/brushing dogs as needed ● Updating name tags/ log sheets ● Intake clients Cleaning ● Disinfect/wash out kennels ● Sweep/mop indoor areas (Crate, training, and restroom rooms) ● Change wood shavings ● Disinfect/wash off turf areas ● Rake behind kennels ● Take out trash ● Wash dog bowls & crates ● Clean training room mirrors ● Pick up dog waste in all areas ● Clean out/check A/C filters ● Organizing shelves and chubbies Leash training ● Teaching leash pressure ● Maintaining loose leash walking training ● Practice waiting at all thresholds The successful candidate will possess the following experience/qualities: ● High school diploma or GED certificate ● Experience providing animal care (highly preferred) ● Must be comfortable around dogs ● A flexible schedule willing to work nights and weekends ● Physical ability to work with dogs of various breeds and sizes ● A team player ● Punctual ● Self motivated ● Attention to detail ● Communication skills with animals and humans ● Ability to adapt and learn new training practices Who We Are: K9 Answers is a fast growing 5 star rated business.
