As a Metal Finisher you will be a member of a highly-collaborative team of metal workers from diverse backgrounds. You will be expected to contribute to a variety of projects, from metal prep to metal finishing tasks. You should have at least an entry-level of proficiency and understanding of various metal finishes, ranging from polishing to brushed finish to satin finishes. As well as an intermediary level of understanding of cutting metal to size at various angles with a high level of precision, using band saws, chop saws, and angle grinders. Metal prep will require descaling and cleaning metal as well as sanding and prepping for paint, sand blasting, plating, etc. We are looking for someone who can work efficiently with others and/or independently. The right candidate will be comfortable serving in a support role and taking initiative when appropriate. Must be dedicated and able to focus on tedious and time consuming tasks. This is a temporary position. Your Opportunity: Participate in high end metal finish on various types of metal. Maintain a working knowledge of all Prepping and Finishing tools and supplies, including but not limited too: random orbital and directional sanders, buffing wheels on hand held and stationary motors, sand paper grits and buffing compounds, etc. Maintain a working knowledge of metal prep and cutting tools including but not limited too: band saws, angle grinders and the various attachments, cleaning agents, etc. Maintain an open line of communication with the Project and Finishing Leads. Maintain a positive attitude and collaborative spirit in a dynamic work environment Communicate clearly and respectfully with peers and supervisors Work quickly and efficiently with respect for deadlines Requirements: 1+ years of related Metal Work and Finishing Skills Visual examples of previous work or in person interview and short finishing test. Proficiency in metal prep, cutting to size accurately, various metal finishes and being able to see and understand what is happening in the metal finishing process to adjust accordingly. Basic knowledge of fabrication. Willingness to work diligently, efficiently, and reliably. Ability to take and follow direction as well as constructive criticism and correction.
