Higgins Wood Floors is seeking an organized and hard-working individual to fill this full time position. This position assists all divisions of our company, removal of old flooring, deliveries, installation and refinishing. Applicants must understand that this position requires physical labor and hand-unloading of 50-75 lbs. boxes of flooring everyday. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Deliveries Drive the Company’s 30’ Curtain Trucks in all conditions: highways, neighborhoods, home owner’s driveways. Hand-unload wood flooring and supplies and carry into homes to multiple levels of the home (2nd floor, 3rd floor). Time-manage multiple stops while keeping in communication with the customers and our office. Process delivery paperwork to ensure accurate billing. Maintain the Truck and DOT Records. A CDL is not required for our trucks but you must have a health card and PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRIVING RECORD AND DRUG SCREENING. Sanding & Installation Wood Floors This position often helps crews in our installation and sanding divisions. Applicants do not need prior experience but should have a "work is work" attitude and be ready to help the rest of our team when needed including but not limited to: removal of existing flooring, installations and refinishing. Stock Staging and loading flooring orders. Receiving, opening, storing and replenishing supplies and products. Checking all the supplies and reporting damage and loss and replenishing the shortage of the same. Interacting with customers in the yard and assisting in loading of their purchases. Keeping and maintaining inventory records of the goods. Labeling and attaching inventory tags to goods and shelving and maintaining records of the same. Maintenance Ensuring the upkeep and cleanliness of all areas of warehouses, yard, landscaping, offices and showroom. EXPERIENCE: Experience Driving a truck of similar size is required. Experience in similar position preferred. Experience in Construction or General Labor preffered. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift and carry flooring boxes (50-75 lbs. each) into existing homes and new construction jobsites. You will unload deliveries by hand. Ability to operate a fork-lift. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and fellow staff. SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Monday through Friday, 6-10 hours a day depending on work load (start at 7 AM). Must be able to work over-time when needed as longer days will be required from time to time.
