Description

Duke students: join us for a free-flowing discussion on avenues to advance climate and environmental justice. Free boxed meal provided! ***This event is for current Duke students only.*** The Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the Duke University Energy Initiative offer Policy Perspectives (formerly known as Policy Boot Camps) to share our team's experience directly engaging with decision makers. These informal discussions with our professionals give Duke students an opportunity to learn more about environmental and energy policy-making institutions—what they are, how they work, and how to engage them. In this session, Kay Jowers, senior policy associate in the Nicholas Institute's State Policy Program, will explore avenues for working with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and communities to support and resource progress toward environmental justice. All current Duke students are invited to attend. Seating is limited, so please register only if you are committed to attending. If your plans change, please cancel your registration so someone else can take part. Boxed meals will be available for participants after the event. This event is organized by the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the Duke University Energy Initiative. The Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and Duke University Energy Initiative are merging as part of Duke's efforts to strengthen its already substantial commitment to advancing solutions for climate change and its impacts.
