A lecture by Prof. Corey Barnes Mississippi State University The Thomistic Institute at Mississippi State University presents a lecture by Prof. Corey Barnes of Oberlin College titled “On the Incarnation: Why did God Become Man?” This lecture will be on Zoom. There will also be an in person meeting for the lecture in the Parish Hall of St. Joseph Catholic Church (607 University Dr, Starkville, MS 39759). Thursday, Nov. 4 6:30 PM About the speaker: Corey Barnes is an Associate Professor of Religion at Oberlin College specializing in scholastic thought from the 12th to the 14th centuries. His research areas include Christology, causation, creation, providence, knowledge of God, theological language, and scholastic receptions of classical, patristic, and late antique sources. The Thomistic Institute exists to promote Catholic truth in our contemporary world by strengthening the intellectual formation of Christians at universities, in the Church, and in the wider public square.
