Learn more about the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra! Sponsored by the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation Guest speaker: Maestro Richard Prior, conductor of the LaGrange Symphony Description: “Magical Moments of Music” From works written as a child and presented in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II to his professional debut in 1988 at London’s Westminster Abbey, award-winning conductor and composer Richard Prior’s music has been performed, recorded, and broadcast widely in Europe and North America. For twenty-five years, he taught composition and built symphony programs at universities and colleges in the United States. Maestro Prior has been leading the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra since 2015. He will be accompanied at the Newnan Carnegie Library by an ensemble, so this program promises to be both educational and musical! Registrants are invited to bring their own lunch to the event or by special arrangement with Oink Joint, you may pick one up there for less than $10.00. Program begins at 12 noon sharp and ends at 1:00 pm. The Carnegie Library is one of the most historically significant structures in downtown Newnan and was built in 1904. The building served as a library until 1987 and is now a honor system library with adult and children's programs.
