Description
ROOSEVELT, NY — A Roosevelt man was placed in custody Friday night by officers, who were on routine patrol.
Gregory Booker, 57, refused to comply with multiple verbal commands at the corner of Woods Avenue and Gilbert Place, detectives said.
From the brief struggle with Booker, two officers suffered injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
Booker was found to be in possession of a white rock-like substance and a glass pipe containing a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine, police said.
He faces multiple charges, including two counts of assault, four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
