Summary Historic Theatre Group, LLC, a division of Broadway Across America, the nation’s leading producer and promoter of live theatrical events is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time Custodial Associate for the Orpheum, State and Pantages Theatres. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and skills in custodial services. In addition, the qualified candidate should be prepared for interaction with management personnel and theatre guests and have the ability to work well as a team and independently, and to work quickly and efficiently. Duties and Responsibilities Through training and on the job experience, gains knowledge of the theatres and how they operate At the direction of the Maintenance Manager, provides custodial services in all areas, including cleaning the auditorium, lobby areas, bathrooms, ensuring the front and back of house are in “show ready” condition. Maintains exterior of the three theatres including picking up debris from the sidewalks, maintaining landscaping at the Orpheum Theatre, snow removal from all sidewalks surrounding the Orpheum and Pantages Theatres and maintains an ice free walking surface at all times Maintains and repairs department equipment, as needed Makes accurate marquee changes as requested in a timely manner In coordination with the Maintenance Manager, communicates relevant information to sub-contractor cleaning company Reports any damage to the theatres to Manager or Operations Coordinators promptly Maintains appearance appropriate to the workplace and wears complete uniform during scheduled work hours Arrives on time for scheduled shifts Consistently displays a positive attitude towards customers, co-workers, supervisors and cast members Cooperates and works in sync with Management and Theatre Operations Coordinators Carpet Cleaning Painting as needed Other duties as assigned Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Cooperation Establishes and maintains effective relationships Ability to take direction from various colleagues Active listener Offers assistance and support to co-workers Works cooperatively in group situations Has a “can-do” attitude Adaptability Able to work around unexpected changes of circumstance or workload Modifies a planned course of action based on new circumstances Changes communication style to achieve the best results Functional Competencies Comfortable climbing and working from a ladder Ability to work in all types of weather Looks for ways to improve and promote quality Ability to identity task and complete them independently Demonstrates thoroughness with assignments Team Orientation Fosters team cooperation Understands team roles and responsibilities Supports group problem solving Qualifications aka KSAOs Ability to operate basic custodial equipment Understands effective cleaning processes Basic computer knowledge, email, word, Excel Education and/or Experience High School diploma or equivalent required Customer Service experience, preferred Communication Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret show schedule, maintenance checklists, marquee information. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from fellow team members Ability to articulate needs and situations, both written and verbal Critical Thinking Ability to identify areas that need to be cleaned Ability to use correct cleaning chemicals for the various surfaces throughout the theatres Knows when to report situations that need to be addressed Physical Demands Walk, sit, bend and squat Talk and hear Lift and/or carry up to 30+ lbs View items at a close and distant range Sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time Able to climb a ladder and work from heights Work Environment Fast paced Work between three theatres/building Work in the outside elements Variety of duties Acknowledgement The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
