TOWSON, MD — An HBO miniseries was filming in Towson Monday. Producers were shooting scenes from "We Own This City," which documents the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Task Force.
Production vehicles were slated to be on Pennsylvania and Chesapeake avenues between Bosley and Washington avenues, according to a notice shared by the Towson Chamber of Commerce.
It appeared the filming was to take place around the Baltimore County courthouse and other county government buildings.
Production vehicles were to be parked in metered spots, according to the chamber of commerce.
Filming was to take place from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25.
"We Own This City" is expected to film in Baltimore and surrounding locations through November, according to the Baltimore Sun, which reports it will be released in 2022.
Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton wrote the nonfiction book that inspired the HBO miniseries, which will consist of six one-hour episodes.
Cast members include Jon Bernthal, who played Shane Walsh in "The Walking Dead"; Josh Charles, who starred as Will Gardner on "The Good Wife"; and Jamie Hector, known for his role as Marlo Stanfield on "The Wire."
The producer is David Simon, who oversaw production of "Homicide: Life on the Street," "The Wire" and "The Corner" — series that also filmed in Baltimore.
