DELUZ, CA — A DeLuz man who died over the weekend after getting pinned beneath his classic car has been identified. George Ness, 76, died around 5 p.m. Sunday on his private property located in the 23000 block of Corte Bonita, just west of Temecula and Murrieta city limits. A preliminary investigation by the California Highway Patrol determined Ness was using his Ford F-350 truck to move a 1935 Chrysler Airflow from an enclosed trailer on the property. After he got the classic car out of the trailer, he got behind the Airflow's wheel to back it up onto his driveway. Ness then got out of the vintage vehicle without securing it, and the car rolled onto him, according to the CHP. Ness died at the scene.
