Join us Saturday, January 16 as we celebrate Steve Cooper and 35 years of making best better! Steve Cooper has been a Camp Director for the University of Florida IFAS Extension for the past 35 years. Before Steve worked for the Camping program, he worked at a hardware store and met the Camp Director of 4-H Camp Timpoochee, hearing about the Florida 4-H Camping Program having an opening, he applied and accepted the position of Camp Cherry Lake Caretaker. After 2 years the position opened in Lake Placid and was transferred down. Steve has welcomed campers from Ocala to the Keys each summer, ensuring that they have a memorable time. Steve has also worked with many groups to bring business to Highlands County. He has spent his entire career to make the best better with each person he meets. Steve's chapter of serving the camp and the thousands of guests will end as he retires after 35 years. We are SO grateful for everything he has done for 4-H Camping! Congratulations Steve Cooper!!!
