Description
After last year's COVID hiatus, Palatine High School's annual Trick-or-Treat with Pirate Pete Festival is back for this fall season. The festival will take place on Thursday, October 28th from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road. This celebration is open to children under the age of 10 that must be accompanied by an adult. The festival is FREE to all attendees in celebration of Halloween and the fall season. Costumes are encouraged! Different games, activities, and displays will be available for the enjoyment of attendees organized by staff and students from different Palatine High School clubs, organizations, programs, and athletic teams. There will be basketball and softball games as well as spooky and other fun-themed tables to visit! Staff and students will be passing out pre-packaged candy to all trick-or-treaters. All other food or drink will not be permitted at this event. Keep an eye out for some special pirate guests that will also be making an appearance! Due to COVID restrictions, this year's event will take place outside in the stadium on the track. This year's festival will be weather dependent and will unfortunately not be rescheduled if canceled due to inclement weather. As the festival approaches, please refer to the Palatine High School webpage for any information about possible cancellations due to weather. While this year's festivities will look slightly different than previous years, Palatine High School Principal Mr. Tony Medina is excited to welcome this PHS tradition back to the community. Mr. Medina said, "I'm excited to have as many kids from the community as possible. This is our most well-attended community event." He continued, "Even though it is outdoors this year, it will be a really unique event for our community and students." Palatine High School thanks the staff and students who volunteer their time to host this celebration. Mr. Medina also recognizes the coming together of staff members as they donate candy for the event. This festival would also not be possible without the sponsorship of the various community organizations and businesses in addition to the Palatine High School Pirate Boosters.
