Back by popular demand, join us to become the hurricane expert in your family!
All Girl Scout grade levels will have the opportunity to become hurricane heroes. They will participate in activities like sandbagging, mock window boarding, creating an emergency kit for their families, learning basic emergency pet first aid, Paracord identification bracelets, and water filtration. We’ve invited guest speakers from the Emergency Management Services, Manatee County Area Transport, Pittsburgh/Bradenton Marauders to help lead the discussion about evacuating vs. staying during a storm threat, including sheltering with animals. Become your family’s hurricane expert!
Lunch is included and participants will receive a patch for attendance. Lunch details will be provided in confirmation that will be sent the week prior to the program. This is being done in order to be in compliance with state food service regulations as they exist at the time of the program due to virus restrictions.
PLEASE NOTE: girls will participate in the same group of 12, wear masks and social distance during each of the 12 stations. Sanitation of all items will occur after each use. Lunches will be individually wrapped and delivered to girls following safety standards.
