JOLIET, IL — A 38-year-old Joliet man facing repeat drunken driving charges is no longer in the Will County Jail in connection with his latest DUI arrest, according to jail records. Last week, Will County prosecutors charged Daniel G. Pierce with three counts of aggravated driving under the influence and one count of aggravated driving while license revoked.
Pierce was freed from the Will County Jail on the night of Oct. 19 after his mother posted 10 percent of his $10,000 bail, jail records reflect.
Pierce lives at her house in the 200 block of South Midland Avenue, court records show.
Pierce was arrested by Joliet officers on Oct. 18 "while under the influence of alcohol" as he drove a Dodge Ram truck on the city's west side along Barney Drive, the complaint stated.
Pierce's prior DUI convictions happened July 13, 2019, in Will County, and Aug. 20, 2016, in Grundy County, court records reflect.
Pierce's other charges state he was driving a Dodge Ram "while the defendant knew or should have known that the vehicle he was driving was not covered by a liability insurance policy."
The aggravated driving while license revoked charge indicates Pierce's driver's license was already revoked or suspended at the time of his latest DUI arrest, Oct. 18.
Pierce has four prior convictions for driving with a suspended or revoked license and this "is the defendant's fifth violation," Will County's prosecutors outlined.
