LOS ANGELES, CA — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday. But before we jump into the Golden State's top stories, Southland residents should gear up for rain on Sunday. An atmospheric river storm system that pummeled Northern California over the weekend was set to hit the Southland on Monday — but forecasters assure that it will have weakened significant by the time it arrives. In Los Angeles County, the storm was forecast to drop .5 to 1.75 inches of rain. Upslope areas of southern Santa Barbara and Ventura counties could see 1 1/2 to 2 inches of rain, while other areas could get as little as a half- inch to an inch, forecasters said. Orange County was forecast to receive a quarter and a half of an inch of rain but San Diego County may only get less than a tenth of an inch. In Riverside County, amounts between a tenth and a quarter-inch were possible.
