MENTOR, OH — After completing a .500 season, the Mentor High Cardinals have punched their ticket for the postseason.
Sixteen teams in each region make the playoffs, under the Ohio High School Athletics Association (OHSAA) rules. The Cardinals finished the season ranked No. 11 in their region.
On Friday, the Cardinals will hit the road and head to Cleveland to play St. Ignatius. The Wildcats finished the year ranked No. 6 in Division I, Region I, with a 6-4 record.

All Division I, Division II, and Division III first-round playoff games will be played on Friday night. Lower divisions will play Saturday. Kick-off time for the Friday contest is 7 p.m.
