Thespians To Stage 'Our Town' At Aurora Central Catholic High

AURORA, IL — Thirty students from Aurora Central Catholic High School are gearing up for their upcoming production of Thorton Wilder's famed play "Our Town." On Nov. 5 and 6, audiences can experience the three-act play about a community in a small town of New Hampshire. Originally published in 1938, the play tells the story of the everyday lives of citizens in fictional Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913. Audiences will follow the lives of the Gibb and Webb families through the play's three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage" and "Death and Eternity." Wilder's play won a Pulitzer Prize for drama the year it was written and remains one of his best-known works. "Friendship, family and love springs from knowing members of the same family for over 100 years," the play's description reads on the school website. "Thornton Wilder's play, Our Town, reminds all that every day is a gift to be cherished from God." Directed by Aurora Central's drama and choir director, Philip A. Nohl, "Our Town" will start at 7 p.m. at the high school, located at 1255 N. Edgelawn Drive. Admission to the play is $10, and reserved seats will cost an additional donation.
