My thing on bass is Stanley Clarke. I am a fusion fan across the board, but Stanley has this funk-rock thing that jelled especially with Billy Cobham, another jazz artist with a rock streak. I want to start off with School Days, Lopsy Lu, and Quiet Afternoon and see where it goes from there. If it clicks, then we can look for guitar and keys. I am not expecting an actual Cobham clone, just a drummer can play that aggressive fusion style.
