WHITE PLAINS, NY — A White Plains man will be going to prison for sexually abusing a minor.
Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah said Monday that Frank Perez, 57, of White Plains, was sentenced Tuesday to five years in state prison, with eight years of post-release supervision.
He will be required to register as a sex offender once he's released from prison.
On Sept. 14, Perez was found guilty, following a week-long trial, of second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony, and second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.
Prosecutors said, between September 2016 and February 2019, Perez engaged in sexual acts with a minor on multiple occasions. The sexual abuse began when the child was 11 years old.
White Plains police arrested Perez Feb. 15, 2019, following an investigation.
The victim was at the sentencing and made a statement.
"There were multiple instances where you were confronted and could have stopped, but out of your arrogance, you kept going," the victim said. "You used to always tell me that although I won the battle, you would win the war. Well, despite the many trials and tribulations you put me through, I won the war."
