On Sunday, the Lady Tigers rode a 20-point third quarter on its way to a 49-42 win over Fisk University. Starkville, Mississippi native Amaria Strong lead the Tigers in scoring with 14 points, as Devyn Lockhart posted the first double-double of her Stillman career with 12 points and 10 rebounds — both career-highs while at Stillman.
Florida native JaMesha King led the Lady Tigers on defense with eight total rebounds, four steals and seven blocked shots - a single-game school record for blocks in Stillman College's NAIA era.
Stillman College pointed out King's seven blocks are the most by a Southern States Athletic Conference player since March 2020.
The Lady Tigers' eight total blocks against Fisk are the most since Stillman blocked nine shots against Miles College and 10 shots against Lane College in February 2015.
To open the 2021-22 season, Stillman saw King drop 23 points and grab 11 rebounds in a convincing 63-56 win Saturday over Florida Memorial University as part of the showcase in Talladega.
Stillman (2-0) will have the week off before traveling to Nashville, Tennessee on Nov. 2 to meet play Fisk (0-2) once again as part of a women's and men's basketball double header at 6 p.m.
