Help Feed Local Families in Need - Thanksgiving Food Drive is on Now

Community members are invited to help provide meals for families in need in south county during the annual 2021 Thanksgiving Food Drive. St. John’s Episcopal Church in RSM works with several other churches each year to give Thanksgiving meals-in-a-bag to families who would otherwise go without a holiday meal. Meals are distributed through the RSM Cares Food Pantry the week before Thanksgiving. Can you pitch in and buy food, help pack bags, and hand out meal bags on distribution day in mid-November? Our 2021 goal is to provide Thanksgiving meals for 300 families in need. To reach — or exceed! — our goal we need help. Please see the shopping list, below; more info: stjohnsrsm (dot) org Here’s our timeline: • All donations are needed by Monday, November 15 and may be dropped off at St. John’s Church Monday through Friday during office hours. • Bag packing day is at St. John’s Saturday and Sunday, November 13 and 14, 1 to 4 p.m. Community members are invited to help pack bags; your help is greatly appreciated! Items brought to the office Monday, November 15 will be packed that day. St. John's is at 30382 Via Con Dios, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. 92688 • Help and vehicles are needed to load bags into transport vehicles at St. John’s beginning at 10am on Wednesday, November 17. It’s a short drive from the church to the RSM Cares Food Pantry location. • Distribution of bags to the families is Wednesday, November 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 30605 Ave. de Las Flores, RSM.
