On December 24, 2020, at 4 p.m., All Saints will hold an outdoor Christmas Eve service to welcome the Christ child! O Come, Let Us Adore Him! This Christmas will be unlike any we have experienced in our lifetime. Gathering indoors can be dangerous due to the pandemic, and our beautiful church is undergoing restoration. But we want to be together for Christmas Eve worship! Thankfully we live in South Florida and have the opportunity to do something our sisters and brothers up north cannot: We can worship outside! On December 24, 2020, at 4 p.m., All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Lauderdale will hold an outdoor Christmas Eve service to welcome the Christ child! Worshipers are asked to bring lawn chairs (or lawn blankets if you prefer) to come for a time of prayer, worship, Christmas carols, and Holy Eucharist. COVID-19 protocols will be practiced throughout the service. All worshipers are asked to RSVP by completing the free registration for this event by December 23, 2020. This is mandatory and required for contact tracing purposes and for informational messages about logistics for those attending. As guests enter, their registrations will be confirmed, and temperature checks administered. Ushers will ensure physical distancing between households. Masks are required to be worn by worshipers at all times. Hand sanitizer stations will be available. Restrooms will be for emergency use only. If inclement weather is forecast, all those who have been registered will be notified of changes to the service, e.g. changing to a Drive-In service or livestream only. This is perhaps more informal than our usual Christmas Eve services, but it will perhaps be even more festive. Given this difficult year, the blessings of being near one another and singing to the Christ Child will make it more meaningful than ever. We hope you will join us!
